Vegan Nutrition

Each vegan is an ambassador of the diet to the public, and most of us are asked questions regarding nutrition on a regular basis when tabling, leafleting, or from our friends and family. We have memorized certain pat answers that we’ve learned from other activists, groups, or popular books. Sometimes these answers are true and sometimes they are not.

At the same time, a lot of scientific research has been conducted on vegetarians and vegans, but most activists have little or no idea that this research has been performed or what the results of it are.

My talk on vegan nutrition will present the major studies on vegetarians and explain the results and what this means for our advocacy efforts. It is my belief that we owe it to the animals we are trying to help not to be aloof about nutrition or the research regarding vegetarians and vegans. The more we know, the more effective we will be in the long run.
