9:00am - Animal Rights vs. Free Trade: New Challenges for the Obama Era presented by Adam Weissman

Description: Since the early nineties, free trade agreements have been the single most powerful weapon in efforts to undermine animal protection laws.  President Obama ran on a trade reform platform, pledging to renegotiate trade agreements like NAFTA, but has since shown little interest in making good on his campaign promises.  What can we do to ensure that 2009 be an opportunity to make progress on this issue and prevent Obama continuing Clinton & Bush's anti-animal trade policies? This slide presentation will outline the history of anti-animal trade policy, current hot issues, and strategies for effective action.

9:30am -I'm Vegan presented by Eric Prescott

Description: I'm Vegan is a series of short documentary profiles that will change the way people look at vegans and veganism. Featuring vegans from all walks of life, these vignettes will be distributed for free over the web so that they can be shared with the world through blogging, email, Facebook, Twitter, & so on.

10:00am - Eco-Eating, The Power of Your Plate presented by Hope Bohanec

Citing peer-reviewed scientific studies, this presentation will explore the detrimental effects of animal agriculture on our environment.

10:30am - A Sacred Duty presented byLionel Friedberg

And it reveals how activism and education is helping to shift attitudes to accommodate a more harmonious relationship with all sentient beings.

3:10pm - Elephants on the Edge - presented by Tim Gorski

In this raw and sometimes unnerving documentary Investigator and documentary filmmaker Tim Gorski takes audiences on a wild ride deep into the SE Asian jungles to explore the complex and dangerous underground trade in wild-caught Asian elephants.
